Private One-on-One Training in Kamloops

I’m Jake Richardson. I run a private gym here in Kamloops where I work with a wide range of people, combining one-ono-one Private Training and Fascia Stretch Therapy to meet people where they’re at. From combat sport athletes at BOA MMA, to busy professionals, to everyday individuals who want to feel stronger, move better, and stay active for the long run. I’ve trained people in their early teens looking to build strength and confidence, and people in their 90s focused on maintaining independence and quality of life.
 
I also work with corporate teams through my PosturePlus program, partnering with companies like RBC and Manning Elliott LLP to help people move better, reduce pain, and perform at a higher level both inside and outside of work.

How I Work With Clients

Private Training

All training is done through one-on-one sessions in my fully private gym. Most clients train with me 2–3 times per week, receiving individualized coaching without the noise, crowds, or distractions of a busy gym environment.
Each session builds intentionally off the last, following a program designed specifically for you, your body, your goals, and where you’re at right now. When the plan is clear and the environment supports you, progress becomes simple. Show up, and the results take care of themselves.

Hybrid Training

combines remote training with in-person coaching. You’ll follow a customized workout plan on your own, with two private training sessions each month to refine technique, make smart adjustments, and ensure you’re progressing safely and efficiently.

Fascia Stretch Therapy (FST)

focuses on the fascia – a continuous web of connective tissue that envelops and interconnects muscles, bones, nerves, and organs. Fascia plays a critical role in movement, posture, and overall function. When it becomes restricted due to injury, immobility, or lifestyle stress, it can contribute to pain, stiffness, and reduced quality of life.
FST is a pain-free, assisted stretching system that targets the fascia and joint capsule. Sessions utilize gentle traction, decompression, and PNF-style stretching techniques to create space in the joints, improve neuromuscular communication, and produce mobility changes that last.
Unlike traditional stretching methods that isolate individual muscles, FST works through entire fascial chains, improving flexibility, balance, coordination, and overall movement efficiency, while also supporting recovery, sleep quality, and stress reduction.
I work with a wide range of individuals, including those with joint replacements, Parkinson’s disease, fibromyalgia, and chronic or recurring knee, hip, shoulder, back, and neck pain. I also support athletes, desk workers, and active individuals looking to move more freely and feel better in their bodies day to day.

Remote Training

is delivered through a custom program accessed via an app, allowing you to train at your own gym or at home. You’ll follow structured workouts designed around your goals, with regular check-ins and ongoing adjustments to ensure continued progress as your body adapts.

This works well for people who want the structure of a solid program but also want regular check-ins to make sure they’re doing things right. It’s also more affordable than full private training while still giving you hands-on coaching.

A lot of people come to me because something hurts. Their shoulder. Their lower back. Their hip.

Most pain isn’t because you’re broken. It’s because you’ve been moving poorly for a long time and your body is compensating.

We work on fixing the movement patterns causing the problem. Sometimes that means strengthening weak areas. Sometimes it means improving mobility. Usually it’s both.

Women's Strength Training

Strength training is one of the best things you can do for your body. It builds muscle, burns fat, strengthens your bones, and improves your metabolism.

This matters even more during perimenopause and menopause. As estrogen drops, you naturally lose muscle mass and bone density. Strength training counteracts this. It helps manage weight changes, supports bone health, improves sleep quality, and maintains the metabolism you had before menopause started changing things.

You won’t get bulky. That’s a myth. What you will get is stronger, more confident, and more capable in your everyday life—no matter what stage you’re in.

Postpartum Fitness Training

Getting back into shape after having a baby is hard. Your body has changed. You’re tired. You don’t have much time.

I work with new moms to rebuild strength safely. We focus on your core, your pelvic floor, and getting you moving without pain. No rush. No pressure. Just steady progress.

Beginner-Friendly Training Programs

If you’ve never trained before, that’s fine. Most of my clients start as beginners.

I’ll teach you everything you need to know. How to move properly. How to lift safely. How to build strength without getting hurt.

Fitness and Training Programs

Full-Body Strength Training

Full-body strength training builds real muscle, burns fat, and makes you more capable in everyday life. We use compound movements like squats, deadlifts, presses, and rows. You'll train two to three times per week. Each session challenges you without leaving you too sore to move.

Foundational Training Programs

Build the Base is my four-week program for people who are new to training or getting back into it after time off. We focus on movement quality first. Learning how to squat, hinge, and press properly. Once you have the foundation, everything else gets easier.

Isometric Training (Holding Strength System)

Isometric training is where you hold a position under tension without moving. Think planks or wall sits. This type of training builds stability, fixes imbalances, and works around pain. If something hurts when you move, we can often train it without pain using isometrics.

Hip and Lower Body Training

Your hips are the engine of your body. If they're not working right, everything else suffers. Strong hips mean healthier knees, a healthier back, and better movement overall. We use exercises like hip thrusts, deadlifts, and lunges to build hip strength.

Long-Term Training Protocol (1-2 Sessions Per Week)

Most of my clients train with me once or twice a week. This isn't a quick fix or a 6-week challenge. It's sustainable, long-term fitness. One or two sessions per week gives you enough structure to stay consistent without burning out. We focus on building strength progressively, improving your movement quality, and making real changes that stick. Between sessions, you'll know exactly what to do on your own. I give you simple guidance for staying active without needing a full program. This approach works for busy schedules, real life, and people who want results without living in a gym.

Reset and Reinforce

First we reset tight tissue and stiff joints using FST (Fascial Stretch Therapy), improving range of motion and joint function. Then we reinforce that change with strength training tailored to your body and goals—so the new mobility actually sticks. Ideal if you want less pain, better movement, and real-world strength that lasts.

Injury Prevention and Post-Surgery Rehab

I work with clients recovering from surgery or dealing with chronic injuries. Whether you’ve had knee surgery, shoulder reconstruction, or you’re managing ongoing pain, I’ll help you rebuild strength safely.

Nutrition Habit Coaching

I help clients build better eating habits that actually stick. No meal plans. No cutting out entire food groups. Just practical advice on how to eat in a way that supports your training.

Most people know what they should be eating. The problem is consistency. That’s what I help you with.

Weight Loss Nutrition Strategies

Weight loss comes down to being in a calorie deficit over time. But how you get there matters.

I help clients lose weight without feeling miserable. That means eating enough protein, eating foods that keep you full, and having a plan that doesn’t require perfection.

Online Training Programs

If you can’t train with me in person, I offer remote programming. You get a customized workout plan delivered through an app.

We check in regularly. I adjust things based on how you’re progressing. It’s a good option if you already know how to train and just need a solid plan.

Remote training works well for people who travel, live outside Kamloops, or prefer to train on their own schedule.

Custom Program Design

Every program I write is built around you. Your goals. Your schedule. Your injury history. What equipment you have access to.

I don’t pull workouts from a template. I design programs that make sense for where you are and where you’re trying to go.

Re-education

Most people struggle with pain because of poor posture, usually from sitting at a desk all day.

I work with clients to correct posture through mobility work, strengthening weak muscles, and building better movement habits.

This is also part of my PosturePlus corporate wellness program, where I work with companies in Kamloops to help their employees move and feel better.

Fascia Stretch Therapy (FST)

I’m a certified Fascia Stretch Therapist. FST is assisted stretching that focuses on the connective tissue around your muscles.

It’s more effective than regular stretching and helps improve mobility faster. A lot of clients combine stretch therapy with training to recover faster and move better.

Sessions are typically 60 minutes. We work through your whole body, focusing on areas that are tight or restricted. You’ll notice improvements in how you move right away.
