5 Minutes to Freedom: How to Beat Procrastination

Are you having trouble getting motivated to go to the gym? Don’t worry, you’re not alone! Many people struggle with finding the motivation to start a workout, especially if they are new to fitness. But don’t let excuses stop you from achieving your fitness goals. Here are some tips to help you overcome the dread of going to the gym and get motivated to work out.

Start small – Take just 5 minutes to complete a task that will help you get to the gym, such as getting changed into your workout attire or filling up your water bottle. This will give you the momentum you need to get started, for me I simply fill up my water bottle and get my gym clothes ready. After that seemingly small step, I am out the door and on my way to the gym.

Tell someone – Tell someone you are planning on going to the gym and when you are planning on going. This will subconsciously hold you accountable and give you that extra push to get to the gym.

Listen to your body – If you get to the gym and are still feeling unmotivated, it’s ok to take it easy or take the day off. Listen to your body and don’t be afraid to ask of it.

 With these tips, you can overcome the dread of going to the gym and get motivated to work out. So don’t let excuses stop you from achieving your fitness goals – get to the gym and start your workout today!
