Remote Program
+ Monthly Private
Sessions

You want a plan that fits your schedule, but you also want someone checking in to make sure you’re doing things right. That’s hybrid training.

You get a customized program you follow on your own, plus 2 to 4 private sessions each month at JR Training Systems. Those sessions keep you accountable, fix your form, and adjust your program when things aren’t working.

At JR Training Systems, hybrid training works for people in Kamloops who need flexibility but don’t want to figure everything out alone. Whether you work downtown, live in North Shore, or balance family and outdoor activities, your program adapts to your life.

This isn’t cookie-cutter programming. Your plan matches how your body moves and what you need to work on. The monthly sessions catch problems before they turn into injuries.

Remote Programming Gives You Flexibility

Follow Your Plan Anywhere

Your program lives in an app. You see exactly what to do each workout: exercises, sets, reps, rest times. No guessing.

If you travel for work, train at home, or use a different gym, your program goes with you. You’re not locked into specific times or waiting for equipment.

I had a client who worked shifts at the hospital. Some weeks she trained mornings, other weeks late nights. Hybrid training worked because she followed her program when it fit her schedule, then came in monthly to make sure everything was on track.

Your program updates based on how you’re progressing. If something’s too easy or too hard, we adjust it. If you’re sore all the time or not recovering well, we change the load before it becomes a problem.

Monthly Sessions Keep You Honest

Here’s what happens without check-ins: people skip exercises they don’t like, let their form get sloppy, or keep doing the same weight for months because they’re comfortable.

The 2 to 4 private sessions each month fix that. We check your form, push you harder than you’d push yourself, and catch the small things before they turn into pain or plateaus.

Those sessions happen at Kamloops’ only private gym. No one’s watching you except me. We work on what you’re struggling with, test movements that feel off, and make sure the program you’re following actually matches what your body can handle.

Winter in Kamloops means less outdoor activity. When trails freeze and roads get icy, your remote program keeps you moving indoors. Monthly sessions make sure you’re staying strong without getting hurt.

In-Person Sessions Fix Problems Before They Start

Check Movement Quality

Most people don’t know their form is off until something hurts. By then, you’ve reinforced bad patterns for weeks.

Monthly sessions catch this early. I watch how you move, see where you’re compensating, and fix it before it becomes an injury.

One client followed his program perfectly for two months. When he came in for his session, I saw his squat pattern was shifting weight to one side. He didn’t feel it, but his knee was starting to ache. We fixed the pattern, adjusted his program, and the knee pain went away.

You can’t see yourself move. Video helps, but it’s not the same as someone watching in real time and correcting you on the spot.

Adjust When Life Gets Busy

Your program works when life is normal. But life isn’t always normal.

Bad sleep for a week? Big work deadline? Sick for a few days? Those things affect how hard you should train. Remote programs don’t know that. Monthly sessions do.

If you show up to a session and you’re fried, we adjust your program for the next few weeks. Lower volume, easier intensity, more recovery. When you’re back to normal, we ramp it up again.

This is why people stick with hybrid training longer than remote-only programs. The plan changes when your life changes, so you don’t burn out or quit.

Programs Match Your Starting Point

No Matter Your Age or Experience

If you’re in your 40s, 50s, or 60s and think you need to start with some beginner group class, you’re wrong.

Hybrid training works because the program starts where you are. If you haven’t trained in years, your first month focuses on learning basic movements and building work capacity. If you’ve been lifting for a while, we start heavier.

Many JR Training Systems clients are 40 to 80 years old. They balance desk jobs in Sahali or Westsyde with hiking, biking, or weekend activities. Some have old injuries. Some never trained before. All make progress because the program fits their body.

I worked with a 68-year-old who wanted to keep up with his grandkids on hikes. Six months of hybrid training later, he was squatting, deadlifting, and hiking Sun Peaks without his knees bothering him. Age wasn’t the problem. He just needed a plan that started at his level.

Build Strength Without Pain

If your knees hurt when you squat, we don’t force squats. We find what works, build strength there, then revisit squats later.

Monthly sessions test movements and catch pain before it gets worse. If something feels wrong during your remote workouts, you don’t push through it. You note it, and we address it at your next session.

Joint health matters more as you age. Hybrid training builds strength without wrecking your knees, shoulders, or back because we’re constantly checking in and adjusting.

Weight increases slowly. You don’t jump from bodyweight squats to heavy barbells in two weeks. You add load when you’re ready, and monthly sessions make sure you’re actually ready.

Accountability Without Micromanaging

You Do the Work, We Guide It

Some people need someone standing over them every session. That’s private training. Other people just need a plan and occasional check-ins. That’s hybrid.

You follow your program during the week. You track your lifts, note how you feel, and stay consistent. Then you come in for your monthly session and we see how it’s going.

If you’re crushing it, we push harder. If you’re struggling, we pull back. If your form is slipping, we fix it. You’re not figuring this out alone, but you’re also not dependent on me being there every single workout.

This works for people who want results but also want independence. You learn how to train properly, and over time, you get better at knowing when to push and when to back off.

Monthly Sessions Keep You From Stalling

Most people hit a plateau and just keep doing the same thing, hoping it’ll work eventually. It won’t.

Monthly sessions catch plateaus early. If your lifts aren’t moving or you’re not losing fat, we change the program. Different exercises, different rep ranges, different intensity. Something has to give.

I had a client who stalled on his deadlift for six weeks. He kept trying harder, but the weight wouldn’t move. At his next session, we tested his hip mobility and found his setup was off. Fixed the setup, adjusted his program, and he added 20 pounds in a month.

You can’t see your own blind spots. Monthly sessions find them.

Nutrition Guidance Included

Eating That Fits Real Life

Hybrid training burns calories, but your eating habits decide how fast you see results.

You can’t out-train bad eating. If you’re following your program but eating too much, fat loss stops. If you’re barely eating and overtraining, your body holds onto everything.

JR Training Systems includes simple eating guidance. You learn to eat enough protein, manage portions without counting every calorie, and adjust when progress slows.

My approach: if you can’t eat this way in five years, it won’t work. I won’t tell you to stop going to Red Collar or having beers at Noble Pig. I’ll teach you better choices most of the time so social events don’t ruin your progress.

Make One Change at a Time

You don’t overhaul your entire diet on day one. You make one or two changes, lock them in, then add more when you’re ready.

During monthly sessions, we talk about what’s working and what’s not. If fat loss is slow, we adjust your eating. If you’re tired all the time, we check if you’re eating enough.

Training and nutrition work together. You don’t need a perfect meal plan. You need realistic changes you can stick with while your program keeps you strong.
